ABOUT MALIN SAHLÉN
I’m Malin Sahlén (b. 1992), a Swedish intuitive artist based in Stockholm, working primarily with abstract oil painting.
My work is rooted in presence — inspired by nature, inner landscapes, and the subtle movements of energy that exist within and around us. Through an intuitive, layer-by-layer process, I explore the meeting point between stillness and motion, the earthly and the ethereal.
I work with oil in both wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry techniques, allowing the painting to shift between flow and stillness. Some layers are created in immediate movement, while others are built slowly over time — resting, drying, and returning again with intention.
This process creates depth, softness, and living transitions where colour, light, and texture are given space to breathe and evolve organically. Each painting becomes a quiet space where harmony gradually forms, and where the final moment arrives not through force, but through a felt sense of completion.
My art is a living practice of presence — shaped by the sensitivity of nature, the vastness of space, the rhythm of geometry, and the universal energies flowing through all life. Guided by intuition, I give each painting the time it needs, trusting the moment when it begins to pulse from the canvas and reveal itself as complete.
At the core of my artistry lies a dialogue between form and feeling, where colour becomes a language of emotional and spiritual resonance. Each painting emerges as a unique expression — a quiet sanctuary where stillness holds space for movement, reflection, and connection.
